妙哉蘇格拉底

＊妙語解頤＊蘇格拉底的太太非常凶悍。有一次，她大發脾氣，把蘇格拉底大罵一頓後，還餘怒未息，於是就提了一大桶水，澆在蘇格拉底頭上。蘇格拉底究竟不愧是大哲學家，涵養功夫特別到家，他非但不生氣，反而搔了搔淋濕的頭髮，笑道：「雷聲以後必有大雨，這是自然法則，也證明這是真理。」*婚姻妙論※蘇格拉底的婚姻生活過得不很幸福。可是他卻能從自己的不幸中，取得一個幽默的結論：「不管怎麼樣還是要結婚。如果娶到一位好太太那麼你很幸福；如果你娶到一位壞太太你會變成一個哲學家。」*加倍辛勞＊有個青年到蘇格拉底門下學演講術。他說明自己來意以後，就滔滔不絕地講了許多話。蘇格拉底答應收他做學生，但是要他付兩倍的學費。青年問：「為什麼要收雙倍學費？」蘇格拉底說：「因為我一面教你如何演講，一面還要教你如何保持緘默。」*不愧屋漏＊蘇格拉底既仁慈又聰明，可是他卻敢於冒犯掌權者，所以當時的權要把他拘禁起> 來，判他死刑。蘇格拉底接到了這死刑宣告，只是一笑置之。 人們說：「你該準備接受死刑。」他搖搖頭，還是笑著說：「我一生都準備有一天會死。」人們問：「你怎麼準備的？」蘇格拉底大義凜然地說：「無論是大眾面前或是私底下，我從未做過一件對不起人的事。」*知己難求＊希臘哲學家蘇格拉底在雅典蓋了一間住屋。有一位朋友去參觀時，覺得屋子很小，就問：以蘇格拉底這樣有名望的人，為什麼不建一間適合他身分的屋子？」

這位哲學家回答：「如果這樣狹小的屋子能夠擠滿真正的朋友，我就滿意了。」
